Since the beginning sustainability has been a part of bluegain’s DNA.
Reducing our ecological footprint is more than a buzzword for us. We minimize our environmental footprint through sustainable practices, such as LEED Gold-certified offices powered by solar thermal systems, we promote rooftop gardens with biodiversity projects and make extensive use of refurbished equipment. We prioritize train travel for business trips and offset our flights, with a commitment to further reduce air travel. We drive own bluegain impact by actively engaging in environmental projects; last year we worked on a marine conservation project where we rehabilitated sea turtles and repurposed ocean plastic waste. Moreover, every year we support diverse social initiatives through donations, e.g. the Children’s Cancer Foundation. It is a responsibility everyone on the team shares, and we are committed to further minimize or even neutralize our impact.
But here is the thing: the world needs more than just minimizing footprints. To really drive change entrepreneurially, we believe in something bigger – expanding our handprint and amplifying our positive influence.

For a Swedish Group, we not only assessed the strategic focus and its current portfolio of sustainability initiatives and made recommendations for its further development. We also linked the sustainability and circularity strategy to the implications of the Group IT Target Picture. Going far beyond the concept of Green IT, our goal was to transform the digital and IT capabilities into drivers of environmental and social impact in the business, making it easier for leaders to accelerate the company’s journey towards the UN’s Sustainability Development Goals.
For a Global Consumer Products company, we developed a circularity strategy including an anything-as-a-service business model centered on repair management and refurbishment cycles for everyday items that too often end up in landfills. We connect their sustainability transformation with a business model shift and enabled with the right digital capabilities. This turned an unprofitable context process into a digitally scalable core process that benefits both the environment and business outcomes and sets a powerful example for other companies to follow.
