VOICE is the German federal association for IT users and CIOs. In this podcast series, CIOs, scientists, politicians and consultants talk about relevant tech topics from the perspective of enterprise users.
/ THEMES
- Investment in IT infrastructure in the cloud is soaring as a result of the pandemic and the associated demand for video communication and home office applications. The business case for IT infrastructure is clear and can convince even critical CFOs.
- But overhyping the technical digitalization of existing businesses, can make us complacent. Moving an email server to the cloud, is not digital transformation.
- Our future requires more dynamic changes than simply applying digital technologies to do what we have always done, faster and cheaper. If changes are too small, organizations run the risk of digitizing the past instead of innovating and transforming for the future.
- Radical, or better ‘comprehensive’ transformations are based on three pillars: The back end, i.e. the question of how a company generates value, the front end, which ensures that value is delivered to the customer, and finally the monetization mechanism, i.e. how a company can extract value.
- These three pillars must be changed coherently in order to radically transform a business or a company
